Hi Ricki, I often use pictures as writing prompts for my Pre-K classroom. The children look at the picture and describe what they think is happening. We glue the picture on paper and take down their description/stories next to it. Later we try to read their stories back to them. It is enjoyable to get their perspective !
This is a great idea! I always forget to use pictures as prompts. My students write in their journals at least twice a week and sometimes it can be hard to come up with a topic for themu to writeu about. This wouldand be perfect. What a good idea! Thanks
Hi Ricki, I find that using pictures as prompts is a good way to get students excited about writing. It is also a good way to help them learn how to write descriptive paragraphs. Thank you, Kim
These are always good to have on hand. They're great for an early finisher activity. Sometimes I set a writing table in the back of the room and kids can thumb through some pictures. They use the pictures to write a story in their journal. Then they can share their story with me, a friend or the whole class. Thanks, Sara
