I've used the Touch Math dot system for several years to help children count money. It seems to be very similar to this. I want to download these materials to check out the song in particular. Students often find an instructional tune a very helpful way to remember more abstract information. (Right now downloads from the Teachers Pay Teachers website are not working. The website is aware of the problem. I'll try again later.)
I like the idea of calling the lines "hair"...makes it kid-friendly. I am going to print this out and use it in the classroom and as a hand-out for parents when their children need to practice at home. Thank you!
