  1. I loved this idea! I always write a welcome letter which is then followed by many detailed letters about specific things (lunch, specialist schedule, buses, homework etc.) but I am always afraid that the follow up letters get lost. I think it's a great idea to put it altogether, in one packet, for the beginning of the year. I also liked how academics as well as behavior was written about...this makes me really consider putting something together about expected behavior for parents to see. Thanks for the idea of putting it altogether!

  2. I also love this idea. I think it must be so helpful for the families to receive all classroom information up front. It seems like it would answer many of the beginning of the year questions that parents may have. This packet includes many details which will help clarify classroom expectations and help parents have conversations with their children throughout the year. I like the idea of handing out all of the information up front. I will definitely try it out this year. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I think the Class Handbook is a wonderful idea as well. I do the typical welcome letter, followed by many specific letters. I like that all the important information is combined into one booklet. I would like to try and create something similar for the fall. Perhaps send a hard copy out on the first day of school, and then post it on a classroom web page. This way parents may reference the handbook if it becomes misplaced. Great idea!
